CENTRAL SHARIAH BOARD INAUGURATES ‘CERTIFICATE COURSE ON ISLAMIC BANKING AND FINANCE’

Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh arranged the opening ceremony of the 3rd batch of a six-month-long course titled ‘Certificate Course on Islamic Banking and Finance’ (CIBF) on February 13, 2021, Saturday at 11:00 am on a virtual platform. Central Shariah Board’s Chairman Professor Dr. Mohammad Gias Uddin Talukder presided over the event, while the board’s Executive Committee Chairman Professor Md. Anwarul Azim Arif was the chief guest. The special guests included: Chairman of the Board of Directors of Standard Bank Limited  Mr. Kazi Akram Uddin Ahmed, Chairman of the Executive Committee of Bank Asia Limited Mr. Rumee A Hossain, Managing Director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Mr. Mohammed Monirul Moula, Managing Director of Exim Bank Limited Dr. Mohammed Haider Ali Miah, board’s Vice-chairman Mawlana M. Shamaun Ali and  Director (Training) of Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM) Mr. Mohammed Sohail Mustafa, CFA. Board’s Secretary General Mr. Md. Abdullah Sharif, CIPA, CSAA, delivered the welcome speech.

Chief guest Professor Md. Anwarul Azim Arif in his speech said skilled and competent manpower should be built up to accelerate the flourishment of Islamic banking. Intensive training is needed for that. He wished the learners success.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Gias Uddin Talukder in his presidential speech said there is no alternative to intensive training and deep study to face the challenges of the twenty-first century. He called upon the learners to spread the knowledge acquired from the training among all including their colleagues.

It may be mentioned that learners from about 25 institutions including Bangladesh Bank and BIBM participated in 3 batches of the course so far.
