Congratulations to the newly elected Chairman and Vice Chairman of the CSBIB

The newly elected chairman of the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (CSBIB), Prof. Dr. Mohammad Gias Uddin Talukder, and Vice-Chairman Maulana M Shamaun Ali an event was organized at CSB Training Institute on Saturday, November 21, 2020, to welcome. The function was presided over by Prof. Md. Anwarul Azim Arif, Honorary Chairman, Executive Committee, Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (CSBIB).

The Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Central Shariah Board for the remaining term of 2019-2023 were received by the Chairman of the Executive Committee Prof. Md. Anwarul Azim Arif and Secretary General Mr. Md. Abdullah Sharif with flowers. At the same time, at the 54th meeting of the Executive Committee, Prof. Md. Anwarul Azim Arif, who was appointed as the Chairman of the EC, was greeted with flowers by the Chairman of the Board, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Gias Uddin Talukder. During the exchange of views, Mr. Syed Sakhawatul Islam, Administration In-Charge of the Central Shariah Board, presented a number of proposals to all concerned, including the newly elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman.

Expressing satisfaction over the activities of the Central Shariah Board, Mr. Md. Golzare Nabi, DGM, Bangladesh Bank, said that one of the targets of the Central Shariah Board at present would be to formulate a uniform Shariah manual, innovate Islamic banking products and work extensively on Islamic banking in Bangladesh.

Muhammad Ruhul Amin Rabbani, Member Secretary of Shariah Supervisory Committee of Bank Asia Limited Maulana Shah Mohammad Wali Ullah, Chairman of Shariah Supervisory Committee of Prime Bank and Trust Bank Limited Prof. Dr. HM Shahidul Islam Barakati, Member Secretary of Union Bank Shariah Supervisory Committee and Khatib Mufti of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque Maulana Muhibullahil Bakvi Nadvi and Chairman of Shariah Supervisory Committee of Al-Arafah Islami Bank and Social Mufti Mumtaz Chhadi.

In his speech, the newly elected Vice-Chairman Maulana M Shamaun Ali thanked the Central Shariah Board for taking successful and effective steps for the capacity building of Islamic banking in Bangladesh and expressed his determination to provide active participatory services in all future activities of the organization.

In his speech, the newly elected chairman called upon all to work with sincerity and dedication for the development of Islamic banking and finance and expressed his determination to make decisions based on advice and put forward many timely plans. The Secretary General of the Board welcomed the newly elected Chairman and Vice-Chairman and conveyed his best wishes and heartfelt congratulations. He also assured them of his full cooperation in carrying out their duties.

The newly appointed Chairman of the Executive Committee, Prof. Md. Anwarul Azim Arif, in his remarks, lauded the ongoing activities of the Central Shariah Board and called upon all to work diligently to forget all setbacks in the face of future challenges.

Note that the chairman of the Central Shariah Board and the chairman of the executive committee, respectively. Mufti Md. Abdullah and Mr. M Azizul Haque (Rahimahumallah) were in charge.
